my mom argues back she's not yelling, she's using a louder voice. I also remember my mom often canceling plans if we were being "bad" now if she needs help with things I'll help out but if I do things "wrong" and she starts "using her loud voice" I immediately stop helping and go back to doing what I was doing and say I'm not helping.

when I was a kid and teenager my parents were always screaming, blaming me for everything, guilt tripping me, everything was enough to get hours of drama and screams. even the most stupid innofensive things, like asking "can I get the green t shirt instead of the white one?" or "some classmates are going to the movies, can I go?" was enough to get me in trouble and hours of "HOW CAN YOU DO THIS TO MEEEEE!!!!". other typical screams were "WE DIDN'T TEACH YOU THAT!!!! WHO TOLD YOU TO SAY THAT???!!! WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO COPY!!!!", "WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO THINK?!!!" ("they" could be other people, neighbours, the rest of the family, random people on the streets, I don't know). I'm not exagerating or joking.
